2024 Mining Indaba in Cape Town, Mintek, South Africa’s pioneering
mineral and metallurgical innovation research council, proudly announces
the forthcoming Mintek@90 Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2024, Mintek commemorates nine decades of unwavering commitment to
advancing the mineral and metallurgical sectors, reflecting not only
Mintek’s enduring heritage and remarkable history but also the
collective endeavours of the South African government, the Department of
Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), and the industry in fostering the
minerals sector’s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To herald this significant milestone, Mintek unveils the Mintek@90
Conference, a tribute to 90 years of excellence in minerals innovation.
This event is scheduled to take place from 11-12 November 2024 at the
esteemed Sandton Convention Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mintek@90 Conference provides a distinctive platform for industry
leaders, experts, and enthusiasts to convene and shape the future of the
minerals sector. With a focus on collaboration, the conference aims to
address pivotal areas of development within the industry, including
Energy, Critical Minerals, Emerging Technologies, Unlocking Resources,
Advanced Materials, Environmental considerations, Social Responsibility,
Governance, and Human Capital Development for the future mining
Industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This collaborative initiative seeks to redefine Mintek’s role as the
preferred partner in mineral and metallurgical innovation. Dr Molefi
Motuku, CEO of Mintek, emphasised the significance of the Mintek@90
Conference, stating, “As South Africa commemorates 30 years of
democracy, we also celebrate Mintek’s 90th anniversary and its

Additionally, the Mintek@90 Conference serves as the flagship event of a
series of activities planned for the year, including a dedicated
symposium focussing on the Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Sector in
April and the Young Researchers Symposium on Mineral Innovation in July,
highlighting Mintek’s comprehensive approach to fostering innovation and
inclusivity within the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past 90 years, Mintek has extended its products and services to
clients in over 60 countries, delivering invaluable expertise and
