The facility, which is scheduled to begin operations on 1 June 2023, will serve as the centre of the company’s operations in the Western Cape and will be providing a full range of waste management services to businesses in the area.
Oricol has established branches in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape. With the addition of its Western Cape operations, Oricol can now offer clients a national environmental services solution.
The company’s initial focus will be to provide its innovative depackaging and secure product destruction service to the Cape Town market with a view to reducing the amount of organic waste being sent to landfill in the Western Cape \u2013 and ultimately helping the province achieve its goal of zero waste to landfill.
Oricol is committed to providing innovative and sustainable waste management solutions that meet the needs of its clients while protecting the environment. This new facility is an important step towards achieving that goal.
The new facility is strategically located on the same site as the new Cape Town Biogas facility in Athlone.
A major financial and environmental benefit for customers will be the savings in transport costs. Any organic waste residue generated after separation at the facility will be utilised by the biogas facility on the same site, thus removing the need to transport the waste to another site.
Oricol’s full range of services in Cape Town will include general waste management, hazardous waste management, liquid waste treatment, secure product destruction, recycling and on-site waste management services.
All of these services will be managed through its ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS 45001 systems.
